on hold, please

waiting and anticipating
waiting and anticipating
waiting waiting waiting
anticipating
restlessness
the hour
lack of seconds
the minute
lack of seconds
and i wait
waiting and anticipating
waiting and anticipating
waiting and anticipating
overjoyed and then let down
a frown, a clown, a merry-go-round
a clock as loud as thunder
i feel within my blunder
as i wait
and i wait
and furthermore anticipate

one can only hope...

tautological

a dream becoming reality
is hardly a practicality
something wished upon for true
yet difficult at times to do

the envisionment of such a dream
can be realized upon a theme
and hopefully the denouement
a happy one ..
a start..

for a dream becoming reality
is no longer a dream
but a practicality

Brazilian Men (a retroactive report )

if a girl were to find herself single and bored; unfocused, with no clear path- I´d tell her to travel. If not for the cultural aspect, the change of scenery or even weather- then for the sheer delight of foreign men.

There is something so seductive about communication without a complete comprehension of one´s native tongue. A smile, a wink, or a caress on the lower back are enough to stimulate a woman more than any verbal compliment could desire.

take giuseppe for example. the name in itself, almost unheard to me except in folklore. beautiful italian man, with dark buttersoft leather like skin, intense hazel eyes and a smile enough to make you feel warm in cool waters. a geologist who studied in southern italy... the hottest geologist i´d ever seen...well, the only one besides my freshman year professor.

then there was marcus. north italy. beautiful eyes-- greenish-blueish-brownish with dark blonde hair and the prettiest set of teeth God could bless a good man with. He seemed to be very knowledgable about Brazil. used to have 4 travel buddies but they are now either engaged to be married or already so. he promised to give me a tour of venice, should i ever find myself in the romantic city. shall keep you posted on that one.

club cancun in the city of salvador introduced me to the cutest bartender in the state of bahia. very latin-looking, tall and dark; lean yet defined by muscle. very cute in a boyish sense but manly enough to exude sex appeal. he was the tequila boy (i will never look at tequila the same way again) and responsible for pouring shots for already inebriated women trusting that - with him - they are in good hands. best part of that night you ask? a chair is pulled up to the middle of the dance floor right in the midst of all the club-goers. my two friends (one staff, one student) nudge me to sit in it. of course, shy old me won´t budge so they push me to the middle. tequila boy locks eyes with me and smiles - i think i´m in love- he gives me his hand to sit me down. right now the entire club is watching me as i step into the seat. a pretty young woman next to me pours tequila into a fire which leads to a funnel which is being held over my mouth by tequila boy. i chugged for what felt like ten minutes, which was in actuality a whole 4 hot seconds. tequila boy then stradles me by putting his left and right leg over my two tightly pressed thighs, he then blind-folds me with a black hankerchief as he slowly starts to spin my head. the young pretty woman next to him starts twirling my chair- spinning it faster and faster and all i can hear is a whistle masking the chant from the crowd surrounding me.

iguassu falls introduced me to our country´s future president. at a mere 26 years old, yet whopping 6´2`, he has traveled 26 countries, and counting. he tells me that he is taking a 3 month long tour of south america before he begins law school in the fall. he and his folks (the most charming little family i had ever met- ever!) will be ending up in capetown before returning home to ohio. sweet, sweet young man. extrememly intelligent and very white. definitely approached me with the best pick-up line i´d ever heard- " excuse me miss... i hope i´m not being too forward-- but, you have the best set of legs i have seen this side of south america". who wouldnt blush at that? i almost creamed myself right there in my seat.

not a shabby brazilian experience for lil' ol' me from brooklyn .....

the ski trip

there is a message i heard today and i'd like to share that message with my fellow blog spotters...
i've probably dismantled it a bit, but hopefully the general idea will get across...

a man took his young son skiing for the first time. the boy was nervous yet happy. within his first try on the slopes he did well and felt he could challenge himself by going further. the young boy went ahead of his father and ultimately lost control and fell down.

upon falling he yelled "help!", and a voice yelled back "help!"
he then yelled "help me!" and a voice yelled back "help me!"
he then yelled "who are you?" and the voice yelled back "who are you?"
he then yelled "bully!" and the voice said "bully!"
he said "coward!" the voice said "coward"

his father came down the mountain shortly thereafter, laughing at the naivete of his young son.
"daddy, who is that?" the boy said
and the father replied "son, that's called an echo, but it's also called life.

"Hello!" yelled the father
"Hello!" yelled the voice
"I can do this!" yelled the father
"I can do this!' yelled the voice
"I am able!" yelled the father
"I am able!" yelled the voice
"I will succeed!" yelled the father
"I will succeed!" yelled the voice

Then the father turned to his son and said "you see son, the echo is just like life, you get from it what you put out there".

i thought the moral of this story was a delight, and felt i should spread it's word.

contagious?

do you ever feel like the negativity of one person can spread like an infectuous disease, contaminating all that in is it's path, and destroying everything that feels its wrath? do you ever feel like, perhaps around this one person, things just dont seem to be going the way they should be, like the comsos is unaligned in their presence, or their universe clashes with yours, or your sun is in their moon, or maybe their sun clashes with your sun, or perhaps your planets are not aligned. whatever astonomical or astrological thing could possibly be disparate or disharmonious would be because being around this person just seems like bad luck.

and what if you had to see this person everyday. what would that be like. not fun. i know.

and what if their negativity started getting to you? you! a totally sweet, happy-go-lucky, fun-loving girl, err, i mean person, who is congenial and convivial and accepting of others and their "flaws".

Times hit the stoop ... gotta run...
