Me, summed up in one word.

I probably would not have deemed this for myself, or conjured up this particular word to describe it, but once I heard it said about me -- I thought; ingenious! How astute and concise of my friend to sum me up in just one statement - "You are known for your intense relationships". And it's true.

Ever since the very first relationship I can think back to (with my dad as a young girl), we were inseperable. Even @ night, there was no babysitter between us, I was sitting right next to him with his cocktail and I, my Shirley Temple. Summers would be spent in Greece and back home, I was the right hand girl to his business (even having named it a few times, despite being merely 4 years old).

Fast-forward to my relationships now, and it's the same way. I place myself in relationships much in the same way I was first exposed to them. I like to concentrate on one individual at a time, putting my best effort into helping it flourish, giving my undivided attention to this one friend and expecting the world (and simultaneously nothing at all) for them to reciprocate back to me. I am often brought into their world, share their experiences and truly begin to empathically feel for this person. I forget about who I am for the moment, and submerse myself in their universe.

I'd prefer one on one bonding time, as opposed to a large social gathering (despite the social butterfly that I am) simply because I am so intense. However, there are certainly times where I can't stand the thought of being by myself, or with one person for too long, and I yearn for the calling of a larger group.

Intense. That is the one word to describe me.

Bahama Mama

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...

I found myself doing that often on the island of Nassau, in the Bahamas. For the ultimate relaxation and the opportunity to forget about any and every obstacle in your life, I would certainly recommend a trip to the Bahamas. Ten days should suffice, anything less is a tease.

Roaming the white sands of Nassau beach you may find yourself some Sexy Chocolate (who gives free massages to the single ladies, by the way, and I sincerely suggest you take advantage of the offer A.S.A.P). The booze cruise comes highly recommended, however, my ass was way too comfortable in my beach chair to get up (even if for unlimited liquor, tasty buffet, and yummy looking men). The aqua green waters were warm and the sun powerful, but never in a disturbing sort of way. It sort of kissed your skin and gave you a hug... it was sheer comfort.

Club Fluid is a decent night club filled with locals so entrenched in the culture you'll find yourself saying "I hafta use da batroom" after a mere two drinks... it's fun. Cocktails & Dreams is the only night club on the beach, but you don't want to arrive before 1am as you would be the only person there. I hear Senor Frogs is the place to be, but again, not from experience.

I find that the "no worries" lifestyle has etched a bit of itself into mine. I came back to NYC with an eerily powerful sense of calm. I feel pacified and at ease and have the Bahamas to thank for it......

or it could have just been Sexy Chocolate. Mmmm, sexy, Sexy Chocolate.
