v. busy, v. hectic day today.
working on a marketing campaign, but again must keep things under wraps. i guess it's no fun reading about it when all the juicy details have to be forcefully concealed.
kind of like watching those reality t.v shows...
hmm, maybe won't blog about MTV anymore.

to be or not to be, your self that is

The self is such an intricate thing. Amazing how when we are not ourselves we realize this not in accordance with the 'non-self' action being carried out but rather, in hindsight.
Looking back on what we've done we can see that we were not ourselves. At least, our true selves that is.
So what exactly happens to the self when this non-self takes over? has it been abducted? is it taking a break? on sabbatical perhaps? how dare she! the audacity of my true self to take a break when i need her most.

Hello my fellow blogees,
This has certainly been a very busy week. Polls are showing a tie between the candidates, (grimacing Bush and laughs-a-lot-Kerry) while others are showing Bush in the lead. Hmmm, this can't be good. Something must be done. Maybe Dilbert had something to do with it (nyuck nyuck).
I have to go get ready for class. It doesn't start until 11am (look at the time) , refer back to my "Tardiness & Punctuality" blog if you feel lost.
This Marketing executive, fashion guru, A-list blogger must get going now.

Jargon Smargon Coffee Jargon

What's with the vernacular at Starbucks and other little coffee shops opening at a corner near you? What ever happened to just plain old small, medium and large. The days when a 'regular' consisted of one cream, two sugars, badda-bing, bada-boom - done.
Since when has coffee become so complicated?

Are we too good for regulars now ? It's either Tall, Grande or Venti. Apparently, certain shops around the city have taken to adding to the Venti (which is the largest of sizes) and now have a Grande Supremo. If we dont do something about this soon we'll be hearing people order 'Grande Supremo Maximo Humongo Gigantico double Venti Large' coffee's, and sadly enough, know exactly which cup size they'd be getting; the bucket of coffee.

This "coffee culture" has been poured in via Europe and has oozed over our pot-hole covered streets since.
Coffee shops have become more ubiquitous than the ever-ubiquitous McDonalds. Coffee is to Starbucks what the Big Mac is to McDonalds; the Mac Daddy (or Bean Daddy for the mocha loving fiends), but when is enough enough?
I'll tell ya - when you hear someone order the "Grande Supremo Maximo Gigantico double Venti Large, with whip".

Fair & Square - Final Debate

So President Bush and John Kerry had their third and final boxing match ... errr, I mean - political debate last night.
But who knocked out whom?
President Bush decided to speak in the English language which is a plus for him; hence the nation understood it's President last night.
But are we not sick of all the bashing? The name-calling, the blame-game, the 'he-said, he-said' is sickening. Neither candidate proposes what he will do differently.
Despite round three bearing no knock outs, I would have to say that Senator Kerry stole the ring last night, so to speak. One of the sole instances in which I completely and utterly agree with Senator Kerry is the fact that he does not wish to impose his faith on the nation or any constituent of it. He is a devout Catholic as Bush is a devout (whatever he is) but he does not wish to run the nation based on his faith. Overturning Roe v. Wade & instituting a constitutional ban on gay marriage is outrageous, and against our rights as citizens of the human race.
If you want to be fair & square you have to see fair and square, (as Kerry does).
Bush ain't fair - he's just square.

A Sunday afternoon well-spent

I was at the library today, which on a Sunday, is as peaceful as a monastery atop a mountain.
Virtually no traffic southbound on Lexington Avenue; Upper East Side pedestrians were scarce, and the bicycle riders, not even a toot from their horns.
The entire fifth floor was, to my liking, completely empty with each table and chair at my disposal, each book on the shelf at my beck and call.
No one around for miles (at least it felt that way).
Why couldn't every day be like Sunday ?

Inside Track to an MTV Intern

Well,
My morning got off to a rough start but my recent meeting just smoothed out the edges. I just met with the MTV Creative team and fleshed out some ideas on what we plan on doing next. For those of you even remotely interested in what I do, I am an intern for MTV Networks. I can't fully disclose the details on my internship and what it entails for fear of what might be the equivalent to a 21st Century Guillotine Death. On a brighter note, they do appreciate me here, and the ideas I have to offer, so as soon as my tenets make it on television I will be sure to take credit for each and every one of them.
