Argentina Update
Well, I'm back from Argentina and not so sure if I am ready to resume life here in New York. Once you're gone, your problems don't resolve themselves on their own, they wait for you patiently to arrive.
I still have two days of respite before my first day of class actually starts, of which I plan on catching up on the sleep I am lacking due to the exhaustive partying I'd exhibited on my trip. I think I made up for all the Friday nights Hunter had me home reading... but enough about school. Argentina was amazing.
The country itself is beautiful, never mind the people--they are gorgeous. Fat is not a concept to them, I don't even think they have the word in their vocabulary, everyone is so healthy and fit, despite the fact that they smoke...and they still look better than us (how they do it we'll never know). The men, by far the most attractive I'd seen in such massive groups, although I thought more so in Buenos Aires than Mar del Plata, but that's just personal preference I guess.
The country is a little stingy on their menu's however, so for one who enjoys to dine, I'd caution you to be patient, because the arrival of your food will take 7 days. I suggest you call the restaurant 24 hours in advance. But all jokes aside, it just goes to show how spoiled we are as Americans, but more likely as New Yorkers. The passive and relaxed atmosphere is probably better for our heart rates, I'm sure if we compared data on an aggregate level the heart attack rate of ours vis-a-viz those of an Argentine must be something like 1.2billion:1
Their napkins are an interesting concoction, they're not really napkins, they are waxy, oil blot tissues for your face. Perhaps they have some sort of secret deal with Neutrogena or Noxema in order to save money on the actual cost of tissue paper. In any event, tissue paper there = wax. It's actually rather convenient for those of us with oily skin, or anyone who persperates during the summer months, those Argentines...always thinking ahead.
With respect to stop signs, they are just like fat... a non-existent concept. Stop? What's that??? Oh a person, oops.
So much for that.
Wanna know how you know you're at a nice restaurant while in Argentina?.... you're silverware becomes part of your bill.
Caution: Those of you visiting, I suggest you speak the SPanish as often as you can, otherwise they may try to overcharge you $30 pesos for a meal because...math isn't a universal language!
AGain, all jokes aside, I had an awesome time and made some really good friends. Like, my Alfajores for example, I will love them forever...lol.
Marissa & Cathy, I love you girls like family, you made my trip and I don't know what it would have been without you guys there...with me...every second, in my room, even all the times I woke your asses up at 6am to run, fold clothes, or simply yawn and stretch : )
Que Tal my bitches, we'll always have Argentina and next GREAT WALL BITCHESSSS! LOL
Palabra Arriba.
That's all for tonight, I need to go catch up on some sleep.
Ciao
