Being compulsively early has gotten to be a nuisance. I sometimes feel the need to arrive at my destinations several minutes in advance so as to avoid any circumstance which could prevent me from God-forbid arriving on time. If I happen to be "on-time" I am late( at least in my own mind I am).
I had a meeting today for instance and arrived 35 minutes before hand. The meeting was to be held at 10:30am promptly and I arrived at 5 to. There I was sitting in a huge conference room all by myself. I thought to myself this has gotten ridiculous. And I think my condition is only getting worse. I can think back to a time when my punctualness consisted of arriving to my destination about five or ten minutes in advance. Now, I am lucky to have not hit the one hour early mark upon arrival.
School,in addition, is the same story. I find myself waiting outside the clasroom sometimes twenty minutes beforehand. I roam the halls, walk past the room, but will dare not leave the floor for fear of the little minute hand flying by as I walk down the steps on the escalator.
My question to the world is...how do you do it?
How can I be late?
