Buffalo is barfy

i had a conference in buffalo this weekend. dont quite understand why people would want to visit a city such as buffalo. unless you have a house by a lake up there, there really is no reason to go. other than a conference, which was my reason for being there.

chippewa street, lined with bars, "clubs", and lounges is pretty good on a friday/saturday night, but expect it to be ghost town the other 5 days of the week.

they do have a starbucks, but if you want really good coffee, i would suggest this little indy coffee shop right across the street called "the coffee spot", great atmosphere, stellar staff, and free internet service for its patrons. on top of all that the coffee is tasty (of which a different blend is offered daily which range from light & acid to bold & fruity).

if your hungry and rich, i would recommend 'Buffalo Chopsticks", this pricey little restaurant with the cutest waitstaff ever. all the boys in there looked like an abercrombie & fitch ad... my flirting was borderline shameless... but, eh...whaddayagunnado? as they say in brooklyn. the town where i am (proudly) from.

on a scale of one to ten, of the cities i've visited, i would have to give buffalo a 5.

my 8pm flight out of buffalo was cancelled, and my 3:50 stand-by was delayed, until about 10pm that evening, and then cancelled at about 10:02pm. we were pretty pissy. some people decided to carpool and roadtrip it down to nyc, but nancy and i decided that riding in a van with a bunch of strangers may not be our best bet out of there, maybe it was the new york city in us talking.

in the end, i fell in love with a couple of southern boys from the midwest, west & south (maybe it was the accent, i once found it annoying, and now it's borderline irresitable) and met two hotties on my flight back to nyc.

buffalo itself was about a 2, but the experiences i had brought it up to a whole 5.
